Guest Post: Hello From a Female Lesbian Woman!

We at Alas, a Blog are very excited to share this post from an avid reader from Yemen, Jasmine Agrabah.

Hello! My name is Jasmine Agrabah. I’m a lesbian female woman lesbian who lives in Sana’a, and I am very excited to share my thoughts on being an out female lesbian living in the Muslim world, who is not actually a straight white guy who lives in the west. Really, I’m not!

Being a lesbian who is really a woman, honestly, I’m not kidding, is very difficult when one lives in a repressive country. There’s the repression, and…um…stuff. You can imagine, I’m sure. You can spend an awful lot of your time imagining what it’s like to be a lesbian woman in a country where it’s frowned upon. The furtive glances. The secret rendezvous. The tender caress of forbidden love. Why, I’m getting hard just thinking about it! I mean wet. That’s what women get. I mean, that’s what I get. Because I’m a woman, and not a man who’s getting some sick thrill out of pretending to be a woman on the internet.

Really.

I know, you may be skeptical. After all, it seems like all of the lesbian Arab women online are turning out to be middle-aged American white guys. But it’s true! And even if you don’t believe me, so what? I mean, the straight white guys had really good reason to pretend to be gay women. They knew that as straight white guys, nobody would listen to them if they shared their opinions. Obviously! So they had no choice but to appropriate the identities of oppressed minorities. It’s just like when white people used minstrel shows to show the plight of African-Americans after Reconstruction. Indeed, it’s exactly like that.

So anyhow, I seem to have gotten off topic. Rest assured, I am a real woman who is a lesbian, and not just some guy who thinks that pretending to be a lesbian on the internet is totally hot. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I hope you’ll read my new blog, “A Really Truly Gay Girl in Sana’a,” and focus on my writing and building my ad revenue. Oh, and maybe you’ll also think about the fact that there are actually real gay women and men being really oppressed in real places. I hope you will. Because I won’t spend much time on it, myself.

Now to forge… er… “give life” to my own lesbian embodiment so that I can have a real-life fake relationship with Jasmine.

I mean, she’s totally HAWT, amiright?
