Threatening to not pay for expenses approved by Congress isn’t “negotiation” and the proper response is not “compromise,” popular though these memes may be. It is, instead, an abuse of democratic institutions by a party that can’t get its way through actual legislation. Hopefully Obama has learned his lesson and will stand his ground this time.

Oh my — that is regrettably good.
“It is, instead, an abuse of democratic institutions by a party that can’t get its way through actual legislation.”
I seem to recall that Democratic Congresses have done the same thing in recent years. The current GOP House didn’t invent this.
Executive orders for things like “gun control” and other such things can be described the same way. We’ll see how that goes.
I wish some of this “We’re still in charge even when we lose” attitude would rub off on the Democrats once in awhile. Instead, they seem devoted to negotiating and compromise… you know, actual productivity. Sigh.
