{"id":13028,"date":"2011-03-31T01:06:29","date_gmt":"2011-03-31T08:06:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.amptoons.com\/blog\/?p=13028"},"modified":"2011-03-31T01:06:29","modified_gmt":"2011-03-31T08:06:29","slug":"two-new-portland-opera-drawings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amptoons.com\/blog\/?p=13028","title":{"rendered":"Two new Portland Opera drawings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.portlandopera.org\/\">Portland Opera<\/a> hosted me (and 16 other cartoonists) at a dress rehearsal for their new production, a double-feature bill of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/L%27heure_espagnole\">L&#8217;heure espagnole<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/L%27enfant_et_les_sortil%C3%A8ges\">L&#8217;enfant et les sortil\u00e8ges<\/a><\/em>, the only two operas <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maurice_Ravel\">Maurice Ravel<\/a> ever wrote.<\/p>\n<p><em>L&#8217;heure espagnole<\/em> is the sort of infidelity farce in which amorous men hide in grandfather clocks.
