This is far too infuriating for words so I’ll let Egalia of Tennessee Guerilla Women<\/a><\/strong> and others handle this. But hey, it’s all about the “love<\/em>” ultra-conservative Christians have for those who are LGBT.<\/p>\n

Memphis Gay Kid Imprisoned in Gay Brainwashing Camp: Save Zack<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mike Ditto<\/strong><\/a> has the story. You can read Zack’s blog here – the 16-year-old is being held against his will and hasn’t blogged since being imprisoned in the camp a few days ago.<\/p>\n

This place is sinister. So, of course, they call it: Love in Action<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ditto says the following is from the guy who runs the camp:<\/p>\n

“I would rather you commit suicide than have you leave Love In Action wanting to return to the gay lifestyle. In a physical death you could still have a spiritual resurrection; whereas, returning to homosexuality you are yielding yourself to a spiritual death from which there is no recovery.<\/em>”<\/p>\n

We need to raise a stink about this one. It sounds like Zack will be lucky to get out of there with only psychological trauma.<\/p>\n

Apparently protests are being held outside the Memphis camp. If you’re in the area, you might want to join them. Or better yet, find a way to break this kid out. Call the media. Save Zack.<\/p>\n

Here are some of the camp’s rules via Mike Ditto<\/strong><\/a> again…<\/p>\n

Kids in the program are not allowed to speak to anyone, not even their parents, for at least the first two days.<\/p>\n

Kids are not allowed to go anywhere unless they are accompanied by at least two other participants, one of which has to have at least 8 weeks of prior indoctrination.<\/p>\n

Kids are not allowed to keep a journal or a diary<\/p>\n

Kids are not allowed to discuss what goes on in the program with anyone, not even their parents<\/p>\n

Kids are not allowed to have contact with any family members other than parents, who also go through the program<\/p>\n

Kids are not allowed to have any physical contact with any human being other than a hand shake or a pat on the shoulder, and only when authorized.<\/p>\n

Kids are not allowed outside of a small geographic area within Memphis, even if accompanied by parents, without prior written authorization<\/p>\n

Kids are not allowed to listen to any music that is not explicitly Christian (Bach and Beethoven are specifically forbidden as being non-Christian)<\/p>\n

Kids are not permitted to enter restaurants that serve alcohol<\/p>\n

Kids are not allowed to speak after 9:00 p.m. under any circumstance<\/p>\n

Kids may be placed in a state of isolation where they are not allowed to communicate with one another<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Remember it’s all about the “love<\/em>. ” And thus, George Orwell’s room 101<\/em> is<\/strong><\/em> a reality thanks to these people.
