You mean almost everyone won&#8217;t die because they don&#8217;t have enough money.  That&#8217;s just swell.  Massachusetts must be so proud of itself.<\/p>\n<p>Why on earth is nearly universal coverage an accomplishment?  Why is the possibility that anyone could be without medical care OK in one of the richest countries in the world? Why is it OK to make money from other people&#8217;s illness<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t understand American politics (although it&#8217;s possible, just possible that the fact that both parties take money from health insurers has something to do with this).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Feministe I learned that the New York Times reads: &#8220;Massachusetts is poised to become the first state to provide nearly universal health care coverage.&#8221; Nearly universal health care?
