I wonder if any of them have aged badly in that time?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2014\/04\/13\/magazine\/blues.html\">The Ballad of Geeshie and Elvie &#8211; The New York Times<\/a><br \/>\nThis long article, about the search for information about two brilliant, but very obscure, female musicians in the 1930s, is the most fascinating thing I&#8217;ve read all month. I can&#8217;t remember who told me to read it, but whoever it was, thank you.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/magazine\/archive\/2017\/06\/lolas-story\/524490\/\">My Family&#8217;s Slave<\/a><br \/>\n&#8220;She lived with us for 56 years. She raised me and my siblings without pay. I was 11, a typical American kid, before I realized who she was.&#8221; This engrossing, disturbing article has been much-discussed and much-criticized.
