It seems likely that part <\/em>of the reason for the decline in men’s LFPR (Labor Force Participation Rate) is the general increase <\/em>in women’s LFPR over the same time period. Obviously, more women working in the paid labor force means that more husbands will have the option of being supported by their wives. This is not a bad thing in and of itself; it’s only problematic if there’s an increasing trend of households in which women do all the work (paid and <\/em>unpaid) and men do little or none.<\/p>\n UPDATE: Half Sigma<\/a> writes:<\/p>\n I respect these guys who are enjoying their leisure instead of working.
