The cats cuddle close
\n<\/span>wanting the warmth of my skin
\n<\/span>offering their fur.<\/span><\/p>\n

No leaves sprouting yet,
\n<\/span>but the warmer, longer light
\n<\/span>promises they’ll come.<\/span><\/p>\n

Crowded coffee shops
\n<\/span>overheated in the
\n<\/span>rain\u00a0 of broken voices.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sunset mid-evening
\n<\/span>lights over the pier are twinned
\n<\/span>in water, dawning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reasonable dawn
\n<\/span>glows white outside my window,
\n<\/span>strange swaddled morning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brightly overcast
\n<\/span>where the sky, this morning, wept,
\n<\/span>like all seasons here. <\/span><\/p>\n

A note about Haiku:\u00a0<\/strong>A while back, I decided to write one (or more) haiku a day about my life. These are semi-traditional haiku: I used seasonal imagery to explore my transient experiences, but I didn\u2019t follow any other content rules. I also used English syllables instead of Japanese morae.<\/span><\/h3>\n
