{"id":4087,"date":"2008-01-14T21:15:08","date_gmt":"2008-01-15T04:15:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogbullet.wordpress.com\/2008\/01\/14\/minners-safety\/"},"modified":"2008-01-14T21:15:08","modified_gmt":"2008-01-15T04:15:08","slug":"minners%e2%80%99-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amptoons.com\/blog\/?p=4087","title":{"rendered":"Minners\u2019 Safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/p>\n<p><i>Cross-posted from <a href=\"http:\/\/ghostoftj.wordpress.com\/2008\/01\/15\/out-of-action\/\">The Ghost of Tom Joad<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t been blogging lately because I injured my back at work.\u00a0 Not a serious injury, just a back sprain.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll blog more on that latter.\u00a0 In the mean time, some <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.aflcio.org\/2008\/01\/11\/mine-safety-agency-mismanagement-no-one-left-to-write-the-rules\/\">workplace safety issues<\/a> I just read up on regarding miners.\u00a0 UPS has a lot of safety issues itself and I should know since I&#8217;m the union representative on the local safety committee.\u00a0 More on all of that latter though:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">The Mine Safety and Health Administration\u2019s (MSHA\u2019s) foot-dragging on developing new mine safety rules mandated by the 2006 <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.aflcio.org\/2007\/03\/29\/miner-act-not-enoughmine-safety-laws-must-be-enforced\/\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">MINER Act<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Times New Roman\"> and other legislation has caught up with it.
