I’ve got mixed feelings about this, myself. On the one hand, I really think that these decisions are best made by the legislature, not by the courts. Court-driven social change can backfire – look at the way that Roe v Wade<\/i> has energized the right-wing for decades (and arguably led to the defeat of the ERA). This decision – especially if the legislature doesn’t find a loophole – may lead to a vast increase in anti-equality, homophobic legislation around the country.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, equality is good.<\/p>\n
