One,\u00a0I no longer felt any responsibility to\u00a0be their teacher\u00a0<em>(and\/or confessor\u2026\u00a0as a way for them to ease the angst of their white privilege)<\/em> on the effects of white supremacy &#8211; eurocentric superiority thinking and practice on\u00a0people of colour. Two,\u00a0I had no desire for\u00a0the material and\/or societal trinkets which\u00a0signifies <strong>\u201csuccess\u201d<\/strong> in their society.\u00a0I could no longer be bought. My soul\u2026 beliefs, values and principles\u2026 are more important to me than to <em>\u201cgain<\/em> <em>the world\u201d<\/em>.\u00a0Three, I don\u2019t expect anything from white people.\u00a0I don\u2019t expect them to be fair. I don\u2019t expect them to be just. I don\u2019t expect them to be empathetic to my situation or to the struggles of people of African descent.\u00a0I don\u2019t expect them to take any sort of responsibility for their past, present or future behaviours. Finally,\u00a0I care about <strong>all<\/strong> people\u2026 regardless of nationality, ethnicity, colour, religion, gender, age and sexual orientation\u2026\u00a0who are oppressed and\/or taken advantage of.
