You stay classy, Dick Armey:<\/p>\n

<\/param><\/param><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n

For the YouTube-challenged, former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, R-Texas, was on Hardball<\/em> discussing tax policy opposite Salon<\/i>‘s Joan Walsh. Given the state of things, Walsh was arguing basic, unassailable points, like the fact that Republican tax and spending policy has been tried and found wanting, while Armey was reduced to ad hominem<\/i> attacks, first against an unnamed female Republican senator (Olympia Snowe? Kay Bailey Hutchison? The mind boggles!) and then against Walsh herself. Unable to actually refute anything that she was saying, Armey spat out, “I am so damn glad that you can never be my wife cause I surely wouldn’t have to listen to that prattle from you every day.”<\/p>\n

Walsh, to her credit, said, “That makes two of us.” I, for one, can’t fathom wanting to be married to a guy who’s so insecure about debating a woman that he has to reduce her statements to “prattle,” and her professional career to whether she’d make a good wife.<\/p>\n
