Please welcome to the world my wonderful new niece, <b>Jemma Elizabeth Andersen!!!<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n<p>The birth went quickly and easily, and I&#8217;m told that both Jemma Elizabeth and her mother (my sister) Allison are in good health.<\/p>\n<p>(No one has specifically reported to me about my brother-in-law Tim, or my nephew Silas, but lacking any other report I assume they too have survived the process without incident.)<\/p>\n<p>In Jewish tradition, children are named after relatives who have passed away; Jemma Elizabeth is named after Allison&#8217;s and my grandfather Benjamin and our cousin Elizabeth.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sitting here getting teary-eyed (and trust me, that&#8217;s <i>not <\/i>my usual state while blogging!).
