I just received my first rejection, an emailed rejection notice from <em>The Nation<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Nation<\/em> email was actually very nice, encouraging me to keep drawing, but pointing out that the rare cartoons <em>The Nation<\/em> does publish are always single-panel. (That&#8217;s not uncommon; a lot of magazines won&#8217;t consider multiple-panel cartoons).<\/p>\n<p>Oh, well. One down, 41 to go.
