Post what you will, including self-linking, if that makes you happy.<\/p>\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n<p>Bobby McFerrin plays the audience like an instrument:<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"500\" height=\"288\"><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=5732745&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=ffffff&amp;fullscreen=1\" \/><embed src=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=5732745&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=ffffff&amp;fullscreen=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" width=\"500\" height=\"288\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>I ran across this list of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pastemagazine.com\/blogs\/lists\/2009\/02\/the-17-best-romantic-comedies-this-decade.html?p=2\">17 best romantic comedies of the last decade<\/a>, and the eight on the list I&#8217;ve seen, I either liked (Waitress, About a Boy, Juno, Punch-Drunk Love, Wall-E) or loved (Sideways, Am\u00e9lie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).  I guess I should see the other nine films on this list.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, I definitely <em>won&#8217;t<\/em> be seeing <em>The Ugly Truth<\/em> after reading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/commentisfree\/cifamerica\/2009\/aug\/03\/the-ugly-truth-women-sexism\">this reviewer&#8217;s very feminist take<\/a> on it. I particularly liked that the review noted how insulting this movie&#8217;s view of men is.<\/p>\n<p>I really enjoy <a href=\"http:\/\/alyssarosenberg.blogspot.com\/\">Alyssa Rosenberg&#8217;s blog<\/a>, but Little Wild Bouquet has, imo, entirely won their inter-blog debate about <a href=\"http:\/\/littlewildbouquet.wordpress.com\/2009\/08\/02\/30-rock-race-and-current-events\/\">30 Rock and race<\/a>. I laugh a lot while watching 30 Rock, but that doesn&#8217;t mean its politics aren&#8217;t screwed up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is an open thread.
