I certainly don&#8217;t think anyone should lose custody of their children merely for making a charge of sexual abuse they cannot prove (just because it can&#8217;t be proven doesn&#8217;t establish that it isn&#8217;t true).<\/p>\n<p>However, in Bridget Marks&#8217; case, two court-appointed experts concluded that Ms. Marks had coached her children to falsely accuse their father of child abuse. The judge accepted that evidence. (The judge&#8217;s order is here, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shanahanlaw.com\/marks\/Marks.OrderGrantingCustody.pdf\">in pdf form <\/a>&#8211; skip to page five). Assuming the experts are correct, then Ms. Marks is a child abuser (coaching children to lie about being abused by a parent is child abuse, in my view).
