Sooooooo hard

“Alas” readers may be wondering why I have’t blogged about Thursday night’s debate yet. But it’s hard work.

You know, blogging about these things, keeping up with the news, no doubt about it, it’s tough. It’s hard work. It’s incredibly hard. I understand how hard it is. I get the traffic reports every day. I see on the computer screens how hard it is. But it’s necessary work. And it’s hard work.

Of course we’re doing everything we can to blog the debate. I wake up every day thinking about how best to blog the debate. That’s my job. I work with Bean of the upstairs bedroom; comes in my office when I’m online every morning, talking about how to blog the debate. There’s a lot of really good people working hard to do so. It’s hard work.

We’re making progress. It is hard work. It is hard work to go from a televised debate to a blogged debate. It’s hard work to go from a place where people get their campaigns energized, or not, to a place where people are can read about it online. But it’s necessary work. And it’s hard work.

I assumed that you would blog about the debate.

How can I possibly trust you if you keep sending mexed missages?

I hate, hate, hate politician’s debates! Won’t blog about it! I’m afraid that leaves it up to you or bean.

My sole report: I crocheted two toilet paper roll covers during the debate. (My mother insists she wants these, that her friends saw the one I made for her last year, and she needs some in assorted colors.)

You would have already gotten the debate blogged if you had made the right diplomatic moves, and had brought some allies to the table. The French and the Germans? Master debate-bloggers. But no, Mr. Unilateral knows best. No allies for HIM.

I KNOW it’s hard work. Of course I know that!

But how can you expect to lead the blogsphere if you say that other blogger’s anayses were the wrong analyses at the wrong time? What kind of message does that send? At least with those other bloggers, we know where they stand.

Anyway, thank you for reading this. And God Bless.

Gee, sure wish I had video feed so I can see you smirking. ;)

Just remember to stay the course.

98% of Alas readers polled said Amp came off as “pissy and petulant” while 1% said he “won on substance” and 1% remain undecided.

I just heard John Zogby today on Air America (new show) predicting a Kerry win. Last week – *BEFORE* the debate – undecideds were asked “Does the president deserve another term?” The answer was overwhelmingly, “No.” Zogby doesn’t think the debates will make that much of a difference, except for water-cooler type talk.

This is barring whatever surprise Karl Rove pulls out of his sleeve at the last minute. Oddly, “something” took down Zogby’s entire phone system while they were doing their latest poll, which they’re now re-doing. Hmmm.

(Actual Zogby quotes: “I know I’m going out on a limb here, but I think that, from now on out, people will be looking for reasons why they shouldn’t vote for ‘that tall guy’”. And, “Both candidates get 40 percent just for showing up” and these core voters won’t change “unless Bush or Kerry turns out to be a serial killer.”)

Zogby says it’s the first time he’s seen this level of difference

If you count the *total* number of times he uses the word “hard” (not just paired with “work”), he uses it 23 times.

Brings to mind the controversial talking-Barbie comment of “Math is hard!” Apparently, so is being President!

It’s incredibly hard to make lots of hard decisions. It’s hard to tell, but making those hard choices leads to having hard experiences. That’s the hardest part of the job! Do you see how hard it is? Do you understand how hard it is?

Kind of makes you wonder if the guy gets a cheap thrill from saying the word “hard”. I think he’s been watching too much porn lately.

Amp has the best hair. Better than Flip-Flop’s. Better than Dim Bulb’s. That’s why he should throw his hat in the Presidential ring again. However, I have it on good authority that bean’s coiffeiure (sp ?) would bring in the feline vote in droves if only cats could vote. Perhaps she could run as veep. LaMarche shouldn’t be out there representing women all by herself, y’know…
