Original text below the link, but it’s pretty darn moot now.
Look, I don’t know anything. If you’re a liberal and you want to read something smart and civic-minded about voting, then you should go read Daily Kos and Talking Points Memo and lots of other blogs that cover that stuff better than I could even if I tried.
And if you want to feel inspired, read this post, which Kip says is the only post you need to read. (It is damn inspiring.)
And if you’re in Oregon and you haven’t voted, please do vote – and please, please vote No on Measure 36.
It’s too late to mail in your ballot, but you have until 8pm tonight to drop your ballot off in person – call your county election office and ask them for a list of drop-off locations. (If you live in Multnomah county, you can find a list of ballot drop-off sites here.)
If you haven’t recieved a ballot, then go and vote in person at your county election office – as long as you’re a registered voter, they’ll give you a ballot. There will be a line, though, so bring a book with you.
If you want to vote No on 36 and you need a ride to the county election office, or if you need someone to drop off your ballot for you, call your nearest No on 36 office – you can find the phone numbers here – and they’ll be glad to help you out. (If you want to vote Yes on 36, why the heck are you reading this blog?)

A couple more election-related notes:
Want to hear something amazing? As of 6pm yesterday, 68% of Multnomah county voters have already voted.
I’ve been meaning to post about the “Yes on 36” faux-hip generation-Z site for days, but I haven’t gotten around to it, and now – one way or another – it’s too late. Anyway, Kip has already said it far better than I could.
and pleasepleasepleasePLEASE vote NO on 37, fellow Oregonians. Please! and thank you.
Thanks for pointing to Kip’s post on the iwontberedifined website (to respond in kind: “c’mon, guys and gals, redefinition is so cool!”), which I somehow managed to miss. He’s got great comments about the deceptive design and language.
I don’t know much about marketing practices in the USofA, but how do you explain that they didn’t find any Asian youth to put on that “multicultural” photo on the frontpage?
(I know, “now – one way or another – it’s too late“; but such strategies certainly won’t stop after the elections.)
Ach, I just watched the video, and there actually are two Asian men in it (I had to switch off the sound, though, because of the “Christian Rock” soundtrack). So much for my hastiness to post superficial comments. “Back to lurking” as says commenter Jam (I think).
