Different babies than usual this week: While I was in Florida, I took some pictures of my nephew and niece, Silas (3 ½) and Jemma (2) playing in a pool.
Silas loves his sunglasses. Really – I don’t think I ever saw him outside without ’em.
Jemma, with the restraint and dignified form typical of so many two-year-olds, asks her poppa if she could borrow his sunglasses.
Oh, yeah. Now this is cool. All she needs is a leather jacket and she’ll be ready to turn on the jukebox by just rapping it with her knuckles.
Moments like this are why life without a swimming pool is barely living at all. Note that Silas has changed from sunglasses to goggles – you can’t drive a high-velocity machine like this without the proper eyewear, now, can you?
(Hey, this makes two baby blogging episodes in a row without Sydney! Don’t worry, Sydney fans – she’ll appear again next week.)

I think Silas is going to look a little bit like you Barry. I can see it in the first picture. I love how Jemma is trying to immitate everyone else with the sunglasses :).
As a kid, I had to wear sunglasses outdoors because my pupils didn’t work very well at that whole regulating light thing. So nearly every picture of me taken outside during the day (rain or shine) from around 18 months to sometime before puberty shows me wearing some bitchin’ shades.
Nothing more awesome than wee ones in sunglasses.
Silsa and Jemma really looking cool in these sunglasses. All this has bring back my memories of childhood when i used to take a sunbath like this. Its rocks man, just chilling and nothing else. Like your pics!
