Cop Threatens To Kill Anti-Domestic-Violence Blogger (Or someone faking the cop's email address does, anyhow. Allegedly.)

Via Five Before Midnight and Behind The Blue Wall, and pointed out to me in comments by Radfem.

As I’m sure someone will point out in comments, it’s one person’s word versus another, emails can be faked, etc etc.. I don’t claim to know exactly what’s happening here, and readers should remember that appearances aren’t always reality. But after reading this news story from the Palm Beach Post, I think the blogger’s claims are extremely credible.

What’s also frightening is that neither of the police forces involved here — not the one employing the cop, nor the one where the threatened blogger lives — are willing to lift a finger to enforce the law against these threats.

If this doesn’t make it out of comments so be it.

Don’t trust any government or their enforcement arm, ever under any circumstances. Police are a nescassary evil that need to be watched closely. Always. The more you trust a politician or governmental body the deeper will be the pain and suffering when it lets you down.
Arm yourself and protect yourself because no one else can or will.

Thanks, Amp. An attack against one of us is really an attack against everyone who blogs on these issues. And too often, the law enforcement agencies involved can’t or won’t take responsibility for their employees who engage in this behavior just like they don’t for other forms of misconduct.

Injustice in Seattle wrote a blogging on this too. He mentions some people who just stopped blogging as well due to harassment and threats.

O.K. Never mind. I clicked though on the Palm Beach link and commented on what I found there not realizing that the story I read was some kind of teaser and that I had to scroll down for the actual story.

Let me tell you, if you have info on the misconduct of an officer you will see a whole other side of those sworn to “protect and serve.” Cops are a brotherhood and they stick together. This lady, and many others, learned this fact the hard way.

Women and children are not safe around the police. Read about all of the sex offenders in law enforcement at nothugcops.com and policecrimes.com.

Knowledge is power, so educate yourself and others on this issue.

I love having police to call. Anytime I have a monster to face, I do call them.

PERSONALLY in their responses to ME and my emergencies over the years, I have had very few problems with them. Why are they ignoring this deputy-related threat to me now? Maybe because it’s a cop threatening,

or maybe because I HAVE POSTED HUNDREDS OF ITEMS ON THE INTERNET OVER THE PAST 5 AND HALF YEARS ABOUT THE TACOMA POLICE CHIEF MURDER-SUICIDE. I TOOK THE INVESTIGATION FILES AND CONVERTED THEM FROM A NONSHAREABLE FORMAT TO TEXT FILE AND DISPERSED THEM TO THE PUBLIC. I RANT OCCASIONALLY ABOUT CRYSTAL JUDSON’S MURDER BY OUR FORMER CHIEF.

That COULD have something to do with it.
Perhaps they do not LIKE me.

But my rants are not against officers or law enforcement. They are against corrupt brass and reluctance to produce evidence of CHANGE. Crystal’s murder was a national scandal and there is STILL no designated place for victims of officer-involved victims to call for help. That sucks!

I want police. I am not an anarchist. But I demand law abiding police.

People counsel me about these threats I received and my safety.

    I can’t see past this:

It is a crime to threaten me.
I am somebody who has the right to not have my life threatened.
When someone – anyone – sends a threat to my family – they should be held accountable if at all possible.
I believe there are sufficient clues and enough evidence to find out who committed this crime.
It should be addressed just like if I were Michelle Obama.

If this jerk had sent that to Michelle he’d be in the New York Times – Section A, cop or not.

There are departments that coddle evil. There are entire regions of this country that are sci-fi frightening with unchecked power wearing badges. I focus on officer-involved domestic violence – chipping away slowly at the wall – but there are a couple of areas that need to be targeted, studied, and stood up against also – in a constructive and productive way:

As mentioned above – sex crimes.
IT IS OFF THE CHARTS. I troll the news every night and I have to wade through a whole lake of officer sex crimes to find the dv cases. It has to be addressed. Somebody has to pick up that mantle. Not just to say I-SEE-A-BAD-COP, but to address CHANGE. They are not even cops to me. They are imposters, predators in the best-possible camouflage. Somebody has to believe their efforts could matter for victims and take that ON – not just complain.

Another one with law enforcment that HAS to be systematically targeted and fought to change is drug, alcohol, and steroid use. There HAS to be random testing. The police union refuses to let it happen? Who’s in charge? THEY are if we LET them be. It’s a no-brainer. Random monthly tests for all three classes of derangers. <– New word. :)

    And psych testing.
    Sigh.
Once a year, no less. Some come in sick, some are psychologically injured or twisted by the job. But the test has to be no standard test. It has to be tailored specifically to target areas that are problems for officers.

We pay them. They are our public servants. They get a badge that says we trust them. We need to stop buying into the illusion that there is nothing that can be done.

If we do nothing, we get what we deserve. That may sound harsh or unfair, but the pedestal that these officers are put on was built by the people… and the people need to take responsibility for holding our law enforcement agencies and entities accountable.

CORRUPT POWER NEVER RELINQUISHES ITSELF WILLINGLY.
