Wow. I actually got a little catch in my throat.

Wow, the picture says it all.
Thanks for linking to me! Yes, juxtaposition is a cool word, and it is very appropriate in this situation. We need to learn to compare these things to reaffirm what has been very wrong with our government lately.
Can I suggest you post these pictures without the COMPARE CONTRAST written on them? The difference is actually much starker and more frightening without the text over the men’s faces (and equally obvious as when one is being instructed to look for it.)
Seconding Mandolin. The heads are important.
Everyone’s a critic! :-P
I liked the effect of turning the men behind Bush into an undifferentiated mass of expensive suits. But if you want to see the photo without the lettering, just follow the link to Feministe.
Adding to the contrast is the color of their suits. The power red is in vogue among women in Congress, while men are still sporting the drab grey funeral attire. One exception is Speaker Pelosi in a regal purple. I think it would be great if men in Congress started wearing more interesting colors.
Or as Jello Biafra would have had it for businessmen in SF, clown suits.
Who is the shorter woman on the left with the glasses?

Contrast? Oh yea, oh yea.
Barbara Mikulski.
Good picture. Though they all still are wearing suits. I’d add a picture of our own Prime Minister who recently undercut pay equity here.
Barbara Mikulski (my senior Maryland Senator) = total bad-ass. I saw her speak at a Ledbetter rally in the Senate swamp this summer. Blew the place away.
it’s so beautiful!
Great juxtaposition. Found your blog via twitter (have no idea exactly how that happened). But I love your blog – and am linking to it.
