It’s the Holocaust of Analogies

Via Sadly, No!, the wisdom of Our Michele:

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann on Saturday described the loss of “economic liberty” that young Americans face today as a “flash point of history” in which the younger generation will ask what their elders did to stop it.

In a speech to New Hampshire Republicans, Bachmann recounted learning about a horrific time in history as a child — the Holocaust — and wondering if her mother did anything to stop it. She said she was shocked to hear that many Americans weren’t aware that millions of Jews had died until after World War II ended.
Bachmann said the next generation will ask similar questions about what their elders did to prevent them from facing a huge tax burden.

“I tell you this story because I think in our day and time, there is no analogy to that horrific action,” she said, referring to the Holocaust. “But only to say, we are seeing eclipsed in front of our eyes a similar death and a similar taking away. It is this disenfranchisement that I think we have to answer to.”

That’s awesome Bachmannese. “This is not an analogy. But one thing is just like the other.”

And thanks to Donald Trump, she’s only the second-most berserk candidate running for president.

I swear to God almighty, if Michelle Bachmann gets elected president I’m leaving the country. Anyone else with me?

How can anyone take America seriously when we allow politicians such as her to fester and pull out real gems like these? I can only imagine what she will tell her future generation about why instead of raising taxes now to help decrease the deficit, we passed it along to them.

I don’t think she quite realizes the political backlash she just sat up and begged for.

I assume you mean the second most beserk Republican candidate. The current incumbent is presumably running for re-election, and though my opinion of him is not especially high, he is not “beserk”.

    Osama Bin Laden is dead.

    I haven’t slept since Friday.

The guy in the room net door should learn to shower more quietly.

I read an article in the New Yorker about a woman who scratched hers head in her sleep that through her scalp and through her SKULL and to her BRAIN. Ew.

And I still make more sense than Bachmann.

Ironically, today is Yom HaShoa, Holocaust commemoration day. I wonder if she knows that.
