“Alas” errors: I’m not sure what’s wrong, but I’m looking into it. UPDATE: I think it’s fixed now.

As you may have noticed, although the blog is here and can be viewed, trying to look at any individual post gets a “not found” error. Which means, of course, that no one can view or leave comments. Aaargh.

I have no idea what’s going on, but I’m trying to figure it out. If you have an idea what’s wrong, please send me an email. :-)

UPDATE: Things appear to be working again. This may be an illusion, however; desperate minds can make themselves believe almost anything. Please remain calm and breath into a brown paper bag until such time as Cyndi Lauper sings “Time After Time” while a puppy naps contentedly in your lap.

On the topic of techno glitches: Last Friday (1/29/16) my Yahoo mail account deleted all the e-mails in my In Box since 12/15/15. They didn’t go to Trash; they didn’t go to Spam; they didn’t go passed Go or collect $200. They vanished.

I was able to retrieve one e-mail that had been wrongly sent to Spam, but that’s it.

The following day I lost all the e-mails from my In Box from 12/7/15 t0 12/15/15. Not any of the e-mails that had arrived since 1/29/16. And not any earlier ones. Just those.

Admittedly, I have 8400+ e-mails in my In Box, so this may have something to do with it. Maybe I’ve finally hit some size limit, and this is Yahoo’s way of reducing the file size? If so, it’s a weird method.

I don’t think I’ve lost anything too crucial, so I’m not freaking out. But it’s disconcerting.

nobody.really, have you checked to see if somebody got access to that account? You might be able to get a list of logins somewhere (I don’t use Yahoo!, so I don’t know where it would be).
