I’m a bit late with these, but here are the pumpkins Vince, Meg and I carved this past Halloween. I’m not at all in Vince and Meg’s class as pumpkin-carvers, of course, but it’s my blog so I get to show my pumpkin anyway. :-)
Pumpkin with stem nose, carved by Barry. I’ve been doing nose-pumpkins the last few years; they’re cool, but they don’t show up very well in the dark. I should switch to some other theme for next year.
I think this was actually a squash or something, carved into an amazing skull by Vincent.
This is my favorite one – a tree carved by Meg. Meg’s tree was even better in person; for some reason it didn’t photograph very well. Both Meg’s and Vince’s were carved without using patterns (and so was mine, but I think that goes without saying when you look at mine!).
This was at a party in which a whole bunch of people were carving pumpkins – and we did a lot of the carving while sitting around a campfire, yet. It was fun, and yet so goddamn wholesome.
Who the heck are Vince and Meg?
Among other things, they were housemates of mine back in the 1990s.
