The historic site I work for is hiring for a part-time position. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable with computers (the job includes working with html, Photoshop, Word, Access, and Quickbooks), can do office work without supervision, and is also able to deal with the public (including directing wedding rehearsals). Being very calm and friendly with the public — even when the public isn’t terribly calm and friendly with you — is necessary.
The job is about 10-15 hours a week, and is located in Portland, Oregon. More details can be found here.
I was really keen until you got the the Portland bit. Not exactly convenient.
Well, if you’re not willing to handle a teeny tiny commute, I just don’t think you’re the person for this position.
I had the exact same response as Maia. Unfortunately Louisville to Portland isn’t exactly convenient either.
Calm and friendly under provocation is a specialty around here.
My commute would be shorter than theirs…
Prepare to be deluged with applicants. I work for a library and posted for a part time position a year ago and got 40 applications, and I only posted the job on the County webpage.
God, I wish there were more hours offered; I’d love that job, but I couldn’t justify leaving my full-time one for it.
Do you pay for gas (for the airplane)?
Yeah on getting lots of appys. It’s like that here in the epicenter of the recession.
