Amp, my daughter is twelve. I’ve had a quick look at your strip (Question: You end on an unfinished sentence – do you do so knowing what comes next, or is that a kind of exercise where you make yourself come up with something?) and the forum. Is it safe to give her the URL of the forum? She is interested in drawing, writing and cartooning.
I love the color palette — that pinky beige color is great. Do you draw and color them on paper, then scan them in? Or do you do any of the parts on computer?

Helen – Hereville itself will always be rated “PG,” so it should be safe for a 12-year-old. (However, keep in mind that “PG” is not “G”; there will be some violence and unplesantness ahead).

The black-and-white artwork is drawn on paper. I then scan the black-and-white art into my computer, and all the colors are drawn on computer using Photoshop.
I look forward to reading it in larger installments. My memory sucks these days, so the week lag between pages is gonna make it hard for me to make connections.

I’m interested to see how the theological questions play out in this story. Will Judaism play a big part or are you playing with signifiers, such as Zindel’s hat and ringlets, for a more general religious theme?
