33 images that resemble bar codes

If I could read Russian, maybe I’d understand why this web page features 33 images that look like bar codes. Then again, why ask why? As points of departure says, it’s fun anyway..

Maybe it’s a commentary on the over-commericalization of the entire world. :p

There is an English version, though it’s less than enlightening:

We enjoy making new posters. If you look carefully, you will find our special barcode sign on each one of them—our identification mark, our beloved logo. You see, we love it so much that we keep thinking of new ways to draw it.

Put these on your desktop, send these to your friends or hang these on the wall!

I did notice that they were all the *same* barcode… strange.

YOu don’t speak Russian? What kind of good Red are you? Oh that’s right, you’re a Green … ;)

That has to be one of the most brilliant, beautiful, and unnerving sites I’ve seen in awhile. That could just be my thinking, though…

Obviously an underground channel of communication for a worldwide terrorist organization. The message must be “Blind all capitalist heretics with point-of-sale laser fire”. Raise the threat level to Orange and stay away from your local Wal*Mart !!!!

It’s not a barcode. It’s a company logo that looks like a barcode.

Now I understand why my Russian had improved since I came to the States. Nothing to do with hanging out with Eastern Europeans who fall back on Russian when someone new can’t handle the English. It’s just that I moved to the left when I moved West. Back in France I was seen as a right wing nut, here I’ve been called a commie more times than I can count. And I think of myself as a socialist with libertarian leanings.
