OK, thanks to Shakesville, I have just realized that the abbreviation of the National Organization for Marriage is NOM.
That’s right.
NOM.
The ammunition to defang this group is in our hands! Someone must merely find a way to combine evil N.O.M. silliness with adorable NOM silliness! No one will ever be able to read their arguments again without helpless giggling, interspersed with a slight “awww.” And if you think that anyone can take bigoted arguments seriously while thinking of nibbling bunnies, well… I wouldn’t want to meet the soul so callous they could do that.
Nom.
rotfl!
I just went to NOMs website and looked at their new ad. The people in it all look like Zombies. Scary and a terrible downer. Your video seems to be about as relevant to the subject as their ad does. It’s certainly a lot more enjoyable to watch. And I didn’t get the same fleeting thoughts of suicide their ad engendered. Someone who cares about this organization, not me, should reach out and suggest they consider dumping their ad and the ad agency who created it and replace it with adorable pets chewing human food quickly and a snappy background score .
I saw that NOM ad too and just couldn’t bring myself to watch it all the way through. It looked so creepy and depressing.
This video, on the other hand, is fantastic. Also, my bunnies unanimously agree that it is a superior video to the NOM add. And would like anyone who is interested in maybe creating a sequel to contact their agents. ;)
And I now have that song stuck in my head permanently.
More NOMness … the storm is gathering ad but with a slightly different soundtrack.
Maybe we should just google bomb the National Organization of Marriage so that searching for their name turns up cute bunny videos of NOM?
And I have to share something a friend wrote me about this ad …
That video is beautiful. Thanks! I will now giggle whenever I encounter NOM which is so much nicer than swearing.
Your strategy is working. Just heard a NOM spokesperson on NPR at lunch today and immediately started singing the nom song!
I hope someone will keep track of teen suicide rates during this very distasteful media blitz by the National Organization of Marriage. I can assure you that there will be some closeted teens and adults out there that will surrender their lives when they see it. Many young people will decide that they do not want to live under that cloud of shame so artfully depicted in this ad. I only wish the government could pull the ad. Disguised as angels, these brokers of lies squeeze the spirit until it disengages from the world. Shame on them.
